Projects are important for many reasons. First, they help you to prepare for business life. Second, most colleges demand undergraduates to engage in certain projects. Here, we’ll discuss the reasons to participate and make projects.

Before hopping into the reasons, let’s define what does project means:

A piece of work that is planned for implementation within the current business environment. They’re aimed to solve certain issues with allocated resources and a period.

Now let’s jump into reasons:

1-Counted as work experience

For most of us, this is the most prominent reason. To explain clearly; businesses count the project as proof that you can do something. Participation in projects proves that you can perform certain tasks under stringent time requirements and bounded resources. Even more, companies use social responsibility projects to make them known to be more helpful towards certain societal goals to promote their brands. Moreover, they generally prefer working with people who have engaged in projects as they frequently do project-based work.

2-Academia expects you to make projects

Especially if you want to study in European, US, and Israeli universities regardless of your program. Unlike corporations, they look for academic and social responsibility projects for their programs and scholarships foreseeing the capabilities of team-working and meeting deadlines with allocated resources beforehand. And before writing your own thesis; you have to spend another two years for making projects to write your thesis.

3-Some NGOs count project experience as a requirement

Especially if you want to participate in certain groups. Or, you might have to pass through vigorous interviews and exams to score your position in some of the NGOs. Some won’t even allow people without social responsibility project experience. When you try to join an NGO, make sure you’ve participated in a project.

4-Great way to socialize

Projects keep people closer and they’re excellent for socialization. And they’re the most efficient way to teach people about teamwork. But, when we ask teachers and academics; even though they agree about project-based assignments and exams, they tend to give individual assignments and make individual exams. In certain scientific studies, project-based learning became one of the most efficient sources of learning about a specific subject.
